IFEMA, Madrid's trade fair body, is working on a new fair project for MADRID NOVIAS, the International Bridal Fashion Exhibition, whose next edition will be staged from 3rd to 6th May 2012 at its habitual venue in Hall 14.1 within DC Area 12.14 at Feria de Madrid.

The main brushstrokes for the new fair concept at MADRID NOVIAS have been set out by the fair's new Director, Francesco Malatesta. These are based on the results of the last few editions of the fair and the opinions of the event's exhibitors, as well as an analysis of the current situation within the sector. The new project, which will be implemented more fully at next year's editions and those of subsequent years, seeks to update and develop the fair's current philosophy, promoting a more comprehensive exhibition based on the general approach that has been pursued at the fair in recent years, with a view to meeting current market needs.

The first few changes and new features will be introduced at next May's edition, although these developments will only offer us a brief glimpse of the more developed and up-to-date project that is being designed for the next few years.

Among the new features that will be seen at the May 2012 edition, we might highlight the following: the organisation of a Foreign Buyers Programme, focusing in particular on Latin America; the organisation of activities such as talks, forums, etc., aimed at buyers, with a view to making the fair more attractive; and an intensification of the fair's communication measures, both in the conventional media and via portals and social media.

As far as the fashion shows are concerned, these will once again take place on the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Catwalk, located alongside the stands in the same hall as the exhibition itself. These shows will coincide with the trade activity at MADRID NOVIAS over the first two days of the event. As of the next edition, an equally prominent role will be granted to the fashion shows for Bridal Fashion, Bridegroom Fashion, Party-Wear and First Communion attire.

As of the year 2013, the fair not only plans to present the latest bridal and First Communion collections, but also the latest attire for parties, events and special occasions, among others. Furthermore, the new fair concept will be promoted through the introduction of a new name and a new image, based on the joint promotion of the First Communion, Bridal Fashion, Bridegroom Fashion, Party-Wear, Formal Attire, Cocktail Attire, Page and Bridesmaid Attire and Accessory sectors. Similarly, the organisers will study the possibility of setting back the staging of the fair by two weeks.
