Today, players like Arvind, Aarvee Denims, Ashima, Soma, Blue Blends, Modern, and newer ones like Nandan Exim and Jindal Denims produce over half of India's total denim output of around 450 mmpa.
Slowly value addition too is coming in with players like Arvind and Aarvee getting into garmenting.
While Arvind is planning a 50,000 jeans per day capacity, Aarvee has started making 30,000 jeans and jackets per month, which will go up to 60,000 garments per month by mid-January.
