French couture designer Rachel Elbaz shows her S/S 12 collection in celebration of Diamond Jubilee. She showed her breathtaking new collection to her devoted fans and loyal clients in her smart Knightsbridge salon. Many of her VIP clients came to support her, such as Britain's best loved soprano Lesley Garrett, HRH Sultana Shah of Malaysia and Cllr Frances Stainton, Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham.

To mark 60 years of The Queen Elizabeth's reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June.

During the champagne reception preceding the show, beautiful lyrical music from Lesley Garrett's album So Deep is The Night was played to the assembled crowd of glamorous guests that included songwriter Victoria Aitken. Victoria's much acclaimed track Fashion Boy, reviewed in over 300 magazines including Vogue, will set the tone for Rachel's next show in the autumn.

Rachel's new collection was created for a very special year that's celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics. Amongst the stunning models swishing down the catwalk was Zambian beauty Rosemary Chileshe-Ellis, nominated to carry the Olympic torch. Other models included Lisa Lazarus, Miss Universe UK (2008) and Alice Christian, daughter of Clive Christian OBE, known for creating the most expensive perfume in the world.

The show started with the Perfect for Ascot Collection - a selection of crisp, bright suits and ensembles – with daffodil yellow, burnt orange and turquoise dominating and peplum tops and dresses much on show.

This was followed by the Cocktail Hour Collection comprising short flirty dresses in the ballerina style, ensembles in scrunched silk organza and short cocktail dresses reminiscent of the glamour of the 1930s - with the colours powder pink, lime green and aqua dominating.

In the final part of the show the models swished down the catwalk in glamorous evening gowns perfect for red carpet events and glitzy balls. The show ended with a spectacular full length silver-bronze gown in satin, adorned with layers of ruffles at the back and trailing a long silver lace train.

The shoes were supplied by Nooshooz who count First Lady Michelle Obama amongst their clients.

Rachel Elbaz is one of those few couture designers left who creates bespoke garments, with her own skilled team of cutters and machinists, in the atelier on her premises. She was trained at the prestigious couture house Balmain in Paris and established her elegant salon in Knightsbridge 16 years ago.

A few years ago Elbaz launched her own perfume Dream de Rachel Elbaz – produced in France in Grasse, the perfume capital of the world – a sexy and feminine perfume that her guests were treated to during the evening.

A special shade of fuschia coloured nail varnish named RACHEL was created by Cetuem Cosmetics Ltd to celebrate the occasion.
