Oscar de la Renta unveils Resort 2013 collection

Oscar de la Renta, one of the world's leading fashion designers, particularly known for his red carpet gowns and evening wear, has unveiled his latest Resort 2013 collection.
The latest collection is full of textures, patterns and glitter. It consists of high-waisted trousers, full skirts, skirt suits and long, boxy jackets.
For his new collection, Mr. de la Renta has preferred abstract prints in place of his favourite tweeds.
The 80-year-old designer, who became internationally known in the 1960s as one of the couturiers to dress Jacqueline Kennedy, presented his familiar young-at-heart feeling through dresses that had the colour white contrasted with red, blue, black or green.
The pick of the collection was a strapless mermaid dress. A couple of dresses in gold and poppy were also well appreciated by the audience. The dresses had an asymmetrical halter neckline, high slit, belted waist and corseted top.
The fairytale ballgowns were presented on the ramp towards the end of the presentation, similar to all earlier displays of Oscar collections.
