A la Mode displays talent of students with grandeur

Mod'Art India, a subsidiary of Mod'Art International Paris organized their Annual Fashion Show 'A la Mode' 2012 with oomph and élan at Tryst – The Music Café in Saket. The Fashion Management Guru Mr. Patrice De Place, the President of Mod'Art Paris and former Director of Christian Dior and Celine (LVMH Group) was the guest honor at the event.

He along with other senior professionals from the fashion and apparel industry were greatly pleased to witness 'An Evening in Paris,' a mesmerizing show of novelty, panache and creative intelligence put together by the graduating students of the college.

The high voltage runaway show was choreographed by famed Choreographer Shakhir Sheikh who specially flew down from Mumbai for the event.

A La Mode 2012 showcased the students' learning at Mod'Art Institute. The joint endeavor by the undergraduates of the first and third year of Fashion Designing was aimed at showcasing their innovative designs intermingled in the culture of modern ferocity.

The collection displayed by the students expressed their penchant for design development, fashion presentation, market knowledge and trend forecasting skills which they acquired through industry exposure and the duration of their course at Mod'Art.

Speaking on the occasion, Smriti Tuli, Director - Mod'art India said, “I am proud to see the collection of my students being accepted, applauded, appreciated and acknowledged so well on such a grand stage. There hardwork is very inspiring and I am sure their talent would take them to places in fashion world.”

The creations showcased in the fashion show were the designs of the students of both Mod'Art Delhi and Mumbai. The topline was inspired by European Fashion customized in the spirit of opulence to enhance the western appearance of today's youth.

Gracing up the event was Mr. Patrice De Place, President of Mod'Art Paris and former Director of Christian Dior and Celine who shared, “Since the fashion industry is constantly evolving and is a highly consumer focused business, the real challenge is to meet aspirations that keep shifting because of global influences. Mod'Art aims to educate fashion enthusiasts to use the French knowledge in the fashion area in India to fuel the growth of indigenous design. I congratulate all the students for their amazing work done.”

The guests who came to cheer the students included various designers of the Fashion Fraternity like Raakesh Agarvwal, Avantika Chowdhary, Preeti Ghai, Pam Mehta, Jai (Parvesh & Jai duo), Gaurav Jai Gupta - Akaaro, Elisha W, Charu Parashar, Monica Arora, Varija Bajaj and Monica Malik. The event also witnessed the presence of many trade experts including Mr. Saranpreet Pasricha – Managing Director, W brand, Mr Saurabh Gupta – Managing Director, Denver Deos, Mr Arnauld Daxotte - Director, Hermes, Mr. S.K. Singhal, Chief Executive Officer & Mr. Nitin Jain, Chief Marketing Officer, OCM India Limitedand Mr Vaibhav Jaipuria, Director, Jaipuria Group.

The precision personified event was hosted by Mod'Art Delhi and it was sponsored by OCM India Limited, Tryst Music Café, Full Time Snacks, Luca Wines, Artic Vodka, Atelier Magazine, Style Rug and SOL Beer.
