In addition to the classic complementary programme for trade visitors, the Ehical Fashion Show Berlin aims to expand its range of activities for the general public and make the fair interesting to consumers. All events in Hall C are free of charge and are open to both trade visitors and members of the public.

Pop-Up Shop: Organised by de la Reh and fairqueen.de, the shop is open to all and offers for sale a selection from the current collections of exhibitors of the GREENshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin.

The Knowledge Lounge gives visitors the opportunity to gather indepth information about the background to sustainable apparel. Representatives of leading initiatives, NGOs, associations and working groups that, for example, campaign for a better ecological balance in the textile sector, as well as improved social standards, fair trade and global standards for ecological materials, will be on hand to answer questions. The organisations include Fairtrade, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), International Natural Textile Association (Internationaler Verband der Naturtextilwirtschaft e.V.), Fairwear Foundation and the Fair Fashion Network (Netzwerk Faire Mode).

‘Change Your Cotton’: What form will sustainable cotton production take in 2025? At the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, initiatives for sustainable cotton will risk a look into the future with their ‘Change Your Cotton’ project. Based on scenarios developed during a ‘Visioning Workshop’ held in cooperation with Britain’s ‘Forum for the Future’ institute, the initiatives present a variety of very different and highly stimulating alternative outlooks for the future.

The keynote speaker for the event is Martyn Bowen, General Manager of Puma Austria.

To draw attention to the importance and significance of sustainable produced cotton products – now and in the future – is the aim of the initiatives for sustainable cotton (INBW).

Aid by Trade Foundation, the Initiative for Cotton Made in Africa and TransFair with fair-trade certified cotton and partners active in the field of organic cotton production have joined forces with the goal of anchoring the subject of sustainable cotton in the public mind. Specifically, they want to make the fashion sector, the textile industry, the political world and consumers more aware of this subject. This INBW project is sponsored by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung – BMZ).

Create Green Breakfast: The last day of the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will be rung in by the ‘Create Green Breakfast’, a panel discussion focusing on jeans with Franz A. Alt, CEO of Freshtex, Jana Kern, Kern Kommunikation, and Selma Yasdut, CEO of Sey Jeans. In the chair will be Silke Bücker, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of TM Magazine.
