Cosmetic Company Pantene has partnered with The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to host "ICONS IN BLACK AND WHITE," an evening which will pay tribute to seven iconic figures in American fashion: Oleg Cassini, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Mary McFadden, Diane von Furstenberg and Vera Wang.
The event will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Guests are encouraged to wear black and white outfits, and express themselves through creative hairstyles.
Each designer has selected a photographic image of a look that defines their aesthetic. The photographs will be displayed in a special exhibition the night of the event.
The focal point of the evening is a live presentation at 7:45 pm during which CFDA will recreate each photo's fashion look using archival apparel, and Pantene hair stylist Gavin Harwin will provide a visionary, fresh update to each hair style while maintaining the unique essence and energy of the designer.
"Pantene is committed to creating marketing platforms that celebrate the strong links between fashion and beauty," says Rick Hasselbeck, associate marketing director for Pantene.
"Innovation in the worlds of fashion and beauty enriches them all, and they are proud to partner with CFDA - the premier organization for the advancement of American designers - to honor the people who shape beauty, hair and fashion trends."
