The second day of the ongoing New Zealand Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2013 saw a feast of fabulous sartorial creations by both young and established designers, especially from New Zealand.

Wellington-based label, ‘Twentyseven Names’ opened the second day with its super-cute ensembles. Designed by Anjali Stewart and Rachel Easting, the collection offered knit sweaters, buttoned-up blouses, adorable shorts, as well as printed socks and bow ties in colors like grey, powder blue and cream.

Auckland designer Ingrid Starnes showcased a beautifully executed and extremely feminine mature collection. The clothing line featured tweed pants and jackets, luxe wool overcoats, silk blouses and dresses, as well as cute knotted rope brooches with playful, geometric prints in colors like pale blue, mustard, forest green, burnt orange, accentuating creams, camel, grey and gold.

At midday, the New Generation Show introduced four new talents - Dmonic Intent, Silence Was..., Daniel K and Arielle Mermin.

Young designer Dmonic Intent showed a strong, sculptural, lattice-work woven collection with geometric prints in yellow and burnt orange and striking bandage dresses.

Silence Was... featured a simple, neatly-tailored winter line in velvet and fur, seasoned with charcoal and bright orange checks.

Daniel K presented geometric cut-out hemlines and panelling in his mix of fitted jackets, draped blouses and dresses in dark colours contrasted with bright red detailing.

Mount Maunganui-based designer, Arielle Mermin, showcased a 70s-inspired range projecting a cool, Californian ease. The line offered velvet and corduroy suiting, silk printed blouses and fitted tunic dresses.

Designer Deryn Schmidt from Wellington launched her new collection that boasted exceptionally strong tailoring, beautiful classic shapes, impeccable silhouettes and bold colour choices. The designer’s exquisite and elegant creations include printed silk pants and matching blouses, warm woollen overcoats and velvet blazers.

The ‘New Zealand Weddings Collection’ unveiled a vivid and delicate array of white, lacy matrimonial outfits.

Andrea Moore revealed her latest hunt-inspired collection that incorporated stylised horse motifs, bold exclusive prints, flowing dresses and dinner shirts.

Liz Turner from Mt Maunganui made her solo debut with her label ‘Riddle Me This’ while Trelise Cooper staged two catwalk shows on the second day of NZFW 2012.
