W Hotels & CFDA to support and nurture emerging talent

The luxury boutique hotel chain W Hotels Worldwide has been announced as the newest Partner to support the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) Fashion Incubator program.

The initiative, which launched in 2010 to offer emerging fashion designers strategic business mentoring and low-cost studio space over the course of two years, had previously been restricted to New York City. Now, with W’s national and global reach, designers will be introduced to new retail, media and consumer markets across America and beyond.

The first of these events – a showcase for four of the ten designers – will be held at W Atlanta in November, attended by a roster of local buyers and media outlets and followed by similar, soon-to-be-announced special events. The { Fashion Incubator } designers will also receive an all-expenses-paid five-day trip to one of the W Hotels’ 42 worldwide locations, to serve as inspiration for their upcoming collection.

“W Hotels and CFDA share a mission to support and nurture emerging talent,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. “Our new relationship will provide a truly unique opportunity to create exposure and new business opportunities for our Incubator designers on a global level.”
