David Downton showcases fashion illustrations at Perth

David Downton, the renowned fashion illustrator, is going to unveil a collection of his most famous illustrations at the artistic exhibition ‘Drawn to Fashion’ in Perth, Australia.

The exhibition will display retrospective illustrations of some of the world's most influential and attractive women.

The ‘Drawn to Fashion’ exhibition would educate visitors about the art of fashion illustration. It would enable the viewers to experience the impression of a dress, led by emotions and the artist’s view.

The England-born illustrator will also release the soft cover of his book ‘Masters of Fashion Illustration’ during the exhibition. The book depicts the lives and work of well known fashion illustrators from the late 20th century.

The internationally-acclaimed fashion illustrator has worked with several high-end brands, such as Tiffany, Chanel, Barneys, Top Shop, Dior, Lancôme and Vogue Australia.

His illustrations feature popular celebrities like Julia Roberts, Dita von Teese, Liz Hurley, Linda Evangelista, Cate Blanchett, Twiggy and Catherine Deneuve.

Born in 1959, David Downtown is currently a visiting Professor at the London College of Fashion.
