The third day of the ongoing fashion revelry Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Spring Summer 2013 saw a range of exquisite creations that emphasized the Indian royal nobility along with the flowery freshness of spring.

Jyoti Sharma’s label ‘Bhanuni’ presented a regal collection named `nRPSUTA`, which means ‘the king`s daughter’ in English. The ensembles projected clean cut silhouettes, standing collars and strong shoulders with a noble dash of Mughal motifs in red, blue, black, gold, rust orange and beige shades.

Designer Manish Gupta presented a fresh flowery range titled ‘Primrose’ which highlighted the first blossoms of spring. The collection was heavy on floral motifs and three dimensional tapestries. The usage of appliqués, laces, tapes, beads, sequins, organza flowers, unique textures and embroidery on the ensembles were creating a perfect harmony with the current trends.

Anupama Dayal, under her label Anupamaa, showcased a collection called ‘The Nile and the Kalinga’, which was an interesting blend of the sensibilities of Egypt and Indian coastal state of Orissa. The Nile touch was highlighted in the form of lotus motifs, detachable Cleopatra-esque collars and the abundant usage of the colour blue. The Orissa element was seen in the beautiful Vichitrapuri ikat weaves that were translated into prints.

Designer duo Alpana and Neeraj showcased a collection that was inspired by the beauty of the frozen continents. The line includes dresses with kick-pleats, and sculpted peplum tops and separates in snowflakes’ prints and embroidery.

Ace designer Namrata Joshipura interpreted the legendary city of Gotham from the blockbuster movie ‘Batman’, through her smart and sassy creations. The show was a procession of cat women dressed in narrow pants, leather tops, shorts and rock jacket dresses. The range also includes an exotic array of floral-printed peplum tops, dresses and front-open jackets in monochromatic tones.
