Fashion group Hugo Boss FY sales up 12% to €1.309 bn

German fashion chain Hugo Boss has posted increased total sales in fiscal 2005 by 12 percent to €1.309 billion.

The Metzingen-based fashion group stated increase also amounted to 12 percent when adjusted for currency effects.

Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose by 21 percent to €163 million and net income increased by 23 percent to €108 million.

On this performance, Dr Bruno Sälzer, Chairman of Hugo Boss AG's Managing Board, said, “We have again outperformed the global fashion market in all key business areas in 2005. The Boss Black Womenswear collections were particularly successful with sales growth of 38%.”

The Managing Board continues to anticipate an upward trend in sales and earnings for 2006.

Hugo Boss AG has maintained its position as global market leader in the high fashion market for many years.

Hugo Boss products are available throughout the world in 102 countries and more than 5,000 retail shops. These include flagship stores, freestanding stores, shop-in-shops and traveler shops run by franchisees or directly by Hugo Boss.
