“Thanks to high level of demand, the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will fully occupy both halls of the ‘ewerk’ for the first time in January and be an event for the trade only. We firmly believe we are on the right track with the fair and that this subject has a great potential for the future”, says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies of Messe Frankfurt.
A sustainable lifestyle in demand Together with the GREENshowroom, the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin pursues a visionary concept by focusing on the connection between streetwear, casualwear and sustainability. It covers the complete spectrum of eco-fair and urban fashions – from men’s and women’s outerwear to shoes, accessories and underwear – and thus perfectly complements the high-fashion oriented GREENshowroom, which is held concurrently in Hotel Adlon Kempinski.
In this respect, it is very important that ecology and ethics are regarded as a matter of course and that no compromises are made in terms of design. “Our concept involves a careful and responsible selection of exhibitors and their products because this is the only way we can be sure of meeting our visitors’ expectations for sustainable fashions characterised by high design quality”, explains Schmidt.
Knowledge Lounge: talk with experts
Besides the classic exhibition, the Knowledge Lounge has proven to be an outstanding pool of information. Next January, therefore, all trade visitors will not only have the opportunity to find out about sustainably-made apparel but also to meet and exchange information with experts from different organisations about the ethical and ecological aspects of fashion.
The face of Notic Nastic
