Ronen Chen launches US e-commerce site with A/W range

Designer Ronen Chen is pleased to announce the launch of his US e-commerce site, debuting November 19, 2012, featuring the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Ronen Chen is one of Israel’s most successful and internationally recognized designers, with 18 stores throughout the small country, and 2 in London.

The Made in Israel label is sold in over 400 boutiques throughout North America and Europe. While a limited Ronen Chen selection is available at Nordstrom, the new e-commerce site, RonenChen.com, will allow US consumers to shop the entire collection for the first time.

Chen designs for women who want to feel confident, elegant and at ease. His love of architecture gives his collection a sleek minimalist aesthetic filled with monochromatic colors and clean lines. His timeless designs are loved by women who span ages 20 to 80, as they’re fashionable but not overtly trendy, and sexy in a subtle, understated way. Chen’s high quality fabrics fall beautifully on all types of silhouettes.

His design process involves first draping fabrics on a mannequin rather than sketching the design on paper. He lets himself be driven by the fabric, and the results mould easily to any shape, giving the feeling that his designs were created with you in mind. He is often told by his customers that it’s as if he’s been inside their wardrobe and designed exactly the right size, fit and look for what they need.

"My customer is the same woman throughout the world, be it in Israel, UK, Europe or the US. She is confident and stylish, she appreciates design, and wants chic and modern looks which are flattering and comfortable. We have a loyal following of Ronen Chen customers in the US to whom we have been selling for over a decade. Until now, they have enjoyed partial collections in independent boutiques throughout the country.

“We want to give our customers what they want - the opportunity to enjoy the entire Ronen Chen collection - and where better than online, a medium familiar to the American consumer and accessible nationwide,” explains Chen. Ronen Chen’s A/W 2012 collection, including tops, tunics, skirts, pants, dresses, jackets and knits.

In 1994, Chen opened his first boutique on Sheinkin Street in Tel Aviv, offering simple, sophisticated dresses. Chen’s designs immediately resonated with the international consumer and he quickly began selling to European and North American boutiques and department stores. Brick and mortar stores in the US will be the next avenue of expansion for the brand, stateside.
