Marcella's 1st J.Lindeberg women's creation in Feb

Stockholm designer J.Lindeberg is proud to announce the appointment of Marcella Lindeberg to be Creative Director of J.Lindeberg Women's Wear.

Marcella's first creation for the J.Lindeberg Women's Concept collection Fall/Winter 2006 will be launched at New York Fashion Week in February '06 and future store openings for women's wear are planned for Fall '06 in London and New York.

Working as a sales manager for Diesel in her native Italy, Marcella met Johan Lindeberg, then CEO of Diesel USA and international marketing director, in 1995; a whirlwind romance leading to marriage in just six months. They first settled in New York where Marcella studied photography though soon left for Stockholm following Johan's vision to set up his own brand.

Creative Director Johan Lindeberg: “Marcella has always been the muse for J.Lindeberg women's wear and has been very involved with the collections from the start. Now it's time for her to take full charge and becoming Creative Director of Women's Wear will give our women's collection the integrity and authority it has always deserved."

Naturally, J.Lindeberg is more associated with menswear, and with JL women's already being very popular in Scandinavia, we want to establish the collection throughout the rest of the world.

Her Milanese and international background and her personal sense of style undoubtedly adds to her unique design concept. Marcella personifies J.Lindeberg for women and the lifestyle just as I do on the men's side.
