A stunning combination of gladiatorial and slouchy apparels, presented by the big fashion houses of the world, mesmerised the onlookers on the third day of the ongoing international men’s fashion fest Paris Menswear Fashion Week.

French fashion house Givenchy, with its creative director of Italian origin Riccardo Tisci, presented a Roman gladiator-inspired collection. The 48-piece black-and-white gothic line was embossed with a series of timeless images taken by the famous American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.

The combative collection included a range of T-shirts, sweaters, tank tops and winter bubble as well as padded biker jackets.

Bill Gaytten, the long-time collaborator and team leader of the Gibraltar-born British fashion designer John Galliano’s eponymous label, presented a quirky yet stylish collection influenced by the multi-faceted German artist Joseph Beuys for the famous John Galliano apparel brand.

Inspired by the slouchy dressing sense of the German artist, the line’s ensembles included classically tailored suits, exuberantly printed jackets, oversized turtlenecks and loose flowing coats based on a muted colour palette of camel, grey, burgundy, olive and black.
