Washington based SGMA International presents the 9th edition of the SGMA Activewear Color Card has been produced for Spring/Summer 2007 and Fall/Winter 2007-08.
This Color Card highlights 24 directional colors for 2007 and 2008, which are uniquely tailored to the global market.
The SGMA Activewear Color Card project is a collaborative partnership between SGMA's manufacturers/suppliers and The Color Association of the US, the oldest and most comprehensive color service. The color committee is composed of marketing directors of fiber companies, designers, and retailers.
The Color Card committee members are: Chairwoman Monika Tilley (Monika Tilley Ltd), Roseann Forde (Forecasting), Kathryn Novakovic (Cotton Incorporated), Iris Le Bron (Concepts NY), June Carlin (Patagonia), Elaine Delgado (New Balance Athletic Shoes), Falza Khanani (JDK Design), Ivy Mamet (Everlast Worldwide), Shanna McKinnan (Cotton Incorporated), and Dana Saks (JDK Design).
This Color Card is especially created for the global activewear market and forecasts new color directions for the next 12 months.
Cement and citron are the cornerstone colors for Spring/Summer 2007. The leading colors for fall/winter 2007/08 are russet and grotto blue.
"The first optic impression in sales is color. Color is always an expression of its time," said Monika Tilley. "For sporting goods manufacturers, the biggest competition is the consumer's closet – what they already own."
