Kristin Costa is a fashion and costume designer, as well as a wearable artist. She began her career creating costumes and set designs for films and Broadway productions through Izquierdo Studios, and has beenKristin Costa Fashion Show at Couture Fashion Week NY designing a collection every season for a number of years.
Ms. Costa's collections are expansions on a theme, often visual interpretations of different aspects of a concept. She deals with psychological, mythological, and iconographic themes, and this season her collection is based on the legend of Joan of Arc, her strength and her vulnerability. The designer will explore aspects of of the celebrated historical figure as a girl, as a warrior, and as a saint, integrating bridal, eveningwear, and avante garde designs.
"An outfit has the power to create a character," says Kristin Costa. "I create designs that can both illustrate a story, and stand alone as wearable pieces for any occasion. I strive to create pieces that have a memorable unique artistry and to dress people who want to stand out in an elegant and fearless way."
Couture Fashion Week is a multi-day event showcasing couture and luxury fashion. It also includes exhibits of luxury brands and fine art as well as world-class entertainment and receptions.
