Nordic design talents flocking to Vision fashion fair

Designer’s Nest was founded in 2003 and the Designers’ Nest Show & Award was launched in 2005 to expose and promote up-and-coming Scandinavian designers to global buyers, designers, media and trendsetters. Today the Award show has evolved into an internationally renowned platform for new Scandinavian design talents and is an integral part of the international fashion trade fair VISION.

The contestants are handpicked among the fashion designers from following nine Nordic design schools:

- Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Helsinki, Finland

-Iceland Academy of the Arts, Reykjavik, Iceland

-Beckmans College of Design, Stockholm, Sweden

-The Swedish School of Textiles, Borås, Sweden

-Esmod OSLO, Oslo, Norway

-The Royal Academy, School of Design, Copenhagen, Denmark

-Kolding School of Design, Kolding, Denmark

-TEKO, Herning, Denmark

-KEA, Copenhagen, Denmark

THE PRIZES

The winner will be presented with a cash prize of DKK 50,000 intended further to promote his or her talent for design as well as an exhibition space at the VISION fair for one season. The Top 3 of the Designers’ Nest will be honoured with an annual subscription to Sport & Street magazine.

All participants in the competition will receive an annual digital subscription to Sport & Street magazine.

H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will be awarding the winner of Designers' Nest AW13 just after the show.

FACTS

The Designers' Nest Award was awarded for the first time in February 2005.The Award was created in order to help particularly skilled and promising design students develop their talent and build a career based on their unique vision and innovation. HRH Crown Princess Mary is patron of Designers' Nest and actively supports and promotes the initiative with her attendance each season. VISION is a merger of the two successful fashion trade fairs CPH Vision and Terminal-2, in the charming old red-brick steam locomotive garage Lokomotivværkstedet and surrounding green areas.
