Nearly fifty shades of grey were playfully demonstrated at the Taiwanese-American fashion designer Alexander Wang’s boxing gear-inspired showcase on the third day of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at New York (NYFW).

The 28-year-old, who has been recently appointed as the creative director of French fashion house Balenciaga, featured his final standalone show before his catwalk debut for the Parisian label, scheduled to take place in the forthcoming Paris Fashion Week next month.

A combination of fur and leather, the designer’s NYFW line included boxy shaped jackets, cropped trousers, over-sized mittens, soft T- shirts and caped open-backed blouses.

Other designers like Son Jung Wan, Rafael Cennamo, Jill Stuart and Marissa Webb also presented their latest collections at the event.

Wang’s creations are being sold by more than 30 premiere international retailers, such as Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Dover Street Market, Browns, Otte and Selfridges.
