Hot crimson and girly pinks played a mysterious game on the fourth day of bi-annual fashion extravaganza Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at New York (NYFW).

American clothing label DKNY, by designer Donna Karan, featured a brightly coloured Fall/Winter collection. Based on pop shades of lipstick reds and bubblegum pinks, the line included long quilted bomber jackets, sheer panelled silk jersey outfits, peak-lapel blazers, tunic-length sweaters and full flirty skirts paired with soft shouldered slim bodices.

Los Angeles-based designer Trina Turk made her NYFW debut with her menswear-inspired line on the same day. Focusing on feminine silhouettes, her collection included sleeveless curly lamb vests, python print shirts, shorts and cropped jackets in deep green, purple, russet and navy blue tones.

Diane von Fürstenberg, the Belgian-American fashion designer, presented a fun collection titled ‘Life is a Party’. Showcasing the 1970s mood, the line included satin pantsuits, plunge-neck turquoise halter dresses, flowy chiffon tops, fur-trimmed jackets and suede wrap dresses.

Designer Tracy Reese presented an edgy girly range for the next fall season. The youthful line featured zebra and leopard printed short kicky skirts, oversized motorcycle leather jackets and sequined dresses.
