During New York Fashion Week, one might be excused for thinking it odd to cover a taxidermist, but one such “rogue taxidermist” by the name of Beth Beverly, certainly qualified for inclusion. By forging a match made in sartorial heaven with famed designer Cesar Galindo, Beverly earned a spot in the coverage of one of the fashion world’s most exclusive events.

Tonight AMC premiers a new series “IMMORTALIZED“, an 8 episode exploration of the world of rogue taxidermists. FashionMingle.net was invited to the pop-up event during New York Fashion Week to promote the series and had the opportunity to interview Philadelphia’s very own rogue taxidermist who will be featured tonight in the premier episode.

Beverly believes that taxidermy can be coveted fashion as well as art — and she has the feathered, furred and boned accessories to prove it. “It’s an interesting business. It takes a sense of humor and it’s not for the faint of heart” Beverly shared.

Beverly likes to accentuate what nature has given creatures and add some fantasy. Her first experience in turning a dead animal into fashionable headwear came while noticing how she could fan the wings out of a pheasant she was skinning and create different shapes. “It just seemed like a natural progression to me, to want to put it on my head” Beverly explains.
