According to Mintel, men are also becoming more comfortable combining casual and formal wear together. These mixes, often referred to as "mashups," include combinations like a tailored jacket with jeans or slacks and T-shirts. Men's fashion is also showing a greater number of color choices. More offerings include pink, purple, and teal.
"For men who are interested in using clothing as an expression of self, there is plenty on the market they can use to show creativity and personal style," Fowler said. "But, many men still look to others for at least a little guidance, which creates the opportunity for men's clothing marketers to use wives and girlfriends as influencers."
