The collection is suffused with bright hues – the bright lipstick pink, brilliant orange, dazzling lime green and red moving to a calmer palette of green, aqua and turquoise.
The styling for the collection is retro inspired – printed satin pants teamed with a sequined shirt, printed satin jumpsuit, 60s inspired short dresses with embroidered yokes and necklines, flowy chiffon full length dress, chanderi printed jackets and chiffon printed saris.
The collection is crafted in silk chiffon, satin, silk chanderi and cotton for inners. The embroidery takes on the mood of the collection and moves from kitschy patterns to playful floral designs.
Puja Arya
The design dream of Puja Arya began with study of fashion at NIFT (Delhi) for two years, well complemented with a scholarship to study design by Nottingham Trent University (U.K.) and the Charles Wallace Trust Fund (British council). In the U.K. Puja’s collection at NTU was selected for a grand showing at the 'Graduate Fashion Week’ in London along with the best design collections from all over the country.
Puja showcased to the world through the highly esteemed Japanese Fashion channel – TOKYO FASHION EXPRESS (NHK) - the only Indian designer whose entire way of working and workshop in Jaipur have been profiled by the television network.
Puja’s inspiration lies in re-inventing traditional craft of hand-block printing which she brings to life by energetically combining with the same with international silhouettes. The designer uses kitschy hand block print designs in bright and natural hues on her western wear, giving her garments a contemporary, modern twist. She represents a smart fusion of opposing inspiration sources which conclude into wearable as well as stylish pieces. Her client base expands beyond the Indian sub continent out into the international market.
Her collections retails at Evoluzione, Evolv, Ogaan, and Collage to name a few stores. Internationally the collection retails at Beams, Japan.
