IDT students exposed to latest prêt designers line at LFW

IDT Surat has made a novel benchmark in the arena of fashion education by making its presence at India’s most prestigious fashion and trade event-Lakme Fashion Week 2013-Summer Collection. It has provided great opportunity to its students for being a part of this promising show in both summer as well as winter Collection from the last 3 Years.

The much awaited fashion extravaganza, Lakme Fashion Week - Summer/Resort 2013 kick-started in Mumbai at Grand Hyatt on 22nd march 2013, Friday till 26th march 2013 Tuesday. The event, which was spread over five days, showcased the wide array of collection by some of the leading designers as well as new breed of designers from fashion fraternity.

And IDT students were exposed to the latest prêt collection of various designers- Asmita Marwa, Narendra Kumar, Debarun, Amalraj Sengupta, Anushka Khanna, Nishka Lulla, Sanjay Hingu, Rimi Nayak, Javed Khan, Purvi Doshi, Payal Singhal, Purvi Doshi, Pooja Kapoor, Vijay Bhalara & Archana Kochhar, from all the five days.

The whole show was mesmerizing be it the models that cat walked on the ramp attiring designer clothes or be it the source area exhibiting the innovative fashion silhouettes. IDT students couldn’t move their eyes from the sizzling showstoppers- Shriya Saran (Actress), bollywood star- Varun Dhavan, Actor Rohit Roy, Gaurav, Indian Idol Superstar- Meiyang Chang & the very fragile beauty bollywood’s talent darling Parineeti Chopra who gracefully glided down the ramp.

The students got candid with the Ace Designer- Manish Malhotra, Mayank Anand, Shraddha Nigam, Rohit Bal, Archana Kochhar, & many more. On each & every stall, the students spent 10-15 minutes & gathered knowledge about the fabrics, colors & designs. All the designers were very cooperative & showed their great interest in our students. The entire source area proved to be informative & of great help to our fashion students.

IDT Surat takes the plunge into this great event, so that students come to know about the Couture’s of well-known & upcoming designers. For that, we ask our students to submit a project report based on the profile of the particular designer they will be attending as well as their experience in the Lakme Fashion Week.

LFW has really left spark in the hearts & minds of IDTians, be it students, staff or faculties & it’s a lifetime memory that every one of us will cherish.
