Inspired by the grace and fluidity of the 1930's and a feminine interpretation of 1940's menswear, Elie Tahari Fall 2006 collection includes unexpected pairing of feminine fabrics with men's tailoring creates a balance between delicacy and structure.

Touches of silks and chiffons are layered with luxurious brocades, jacquards and velvets.

Menswear-inspired fabrics such as tweeds and wool are softened with cashmere and silk while vintage inspired sheered mink jackets are touched with lace.

Inspired by elaborate home interiors, a spectrum of textile prints is illustrated throughout the collection.

The construction and particular details of each design are given specific attention with added elements such as ruching, pleating and ruffles.

Ironwork embroideries and buckles accent laces and slender grosgrain.

The deep color palette ranges from candle-lit jewel tones and brisk violets to smoky greys, reflecting the hint of changing seasons.

Silhouettes are long and lean, suited and fluid. While skirt and trouser length varies, the focus remains on the waist, best expressed by the belted jackets found in the collection.

Voluminous skirts, from fluted to ballooned, cropped pants and jackets, and the sensuous and delicate knits of the collection all serve to highlight the contrast of weights and the perception of masculine and feminine.

The Company defies categorization.

By cutting throughthe traditional channels of doing business and rethinking conventional notions of shopping, the Elie Tahari Collection rounds the corner first to re-invent the way an industry conducts business.

The customer has always listened to Elie Tahari. Now the industry is taking notice.

Other designers are modeling their own plans to more closely reflect the Company's lead, which is nothing new.

Even after 30 years, Tahari, through the Collection, remains true to his instincts, the 'before timely' ideas that are just a little ahead of the times, but way out front when creating those magic moments of fashion.
