Athletes trust on K2 Inc wins 43 medals in Winter Olympic

Premier, branded consumer products company, K2 Inc announced that 29 athletes equipped with K2 products combined to win 43 total medals at the 20th Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.
Olympic athletes outfitted with equipment from K2's leading brands Volkl, Marker, K2 and Madshus combined to win 12 gold, 19 silver and 12 bronze medals.
"The 2006 Winter Olympics marked a tremendous victory for K2 and their portfolio of world class brands," said Richard J Heckmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of K2, Inc.
"They are extremely proud of all the Olympians they support, as well as the role their products played in these medal-winning performances.
These wins further solidify K2's position as a leader in the winter sports market."
K2-equipped medal-winning athletes competed in five event categories in the 2006 Winter Olympic Games including alpine skiing, nordic skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and speed skating.
Medal-winning K2 equipment used in Turin included alpine skis and bindings, cross-country skis, ski boots, snowboards and speed skates.
Notable athletes bringing home medals with products by K2 Inc companies include Ted Ligety winner of the sole Men's US alpine medal, Gretchen Bleiler snowboarding for the US, Michael Greis competing in the biathlon for Germany and speedskater Anni Friesinger representing Germany.
