Jewelry retailer Tiffany & Co has announced plans to open two new stores in China in 2006: an approx. 1,900 gross-square-foot store in Beijing's Oriental Plaza, a prominent retail center; and an approx. 700-square-foot store in Shanghai's Plaza 66, the city's prestigious luxury shopping center.

The opening date for the Beijing store is May 2006, with the Shanghai store opening slated for the fall. Both stores will offer an array of renowned TIFFANY & CO collections, including the world's finest diamonds that have established Tiffany as a premier jeweler. Among them are diamond engagement rings, Tiffany Celebration(TM) rings, and diamond jewelry of ultimate glamour in platinum and eighteen-karat gold settings.

Other designs include rare and lustrous pearls; fashion jewelry and watches; the collections of Paloma Picasso and Jean Schlumberger; gifts and accessories.

Darren Chen, Tiffany & Co Group VP - International Sales, said, "The Oriental Plaza in Beijing and Plaza 66 in Shanghai are ideal environments for a TIFFANY & CO store."

"These convenient locations expand our presence both in Beijing and Shanghai, cities of growing importance as global business centers and as destinations for both domestic and overseas tourists. We look forward to giving our customers in both cities greater access to Tiffany's heritage of design excellence and outstanding service, qualities that together create a unique and memorable shopping experience," Chen said.

The new stores are the company's second locations in both cities. Tiffany currently has a boutique in Beijing's Peninsula Palace Hotel, which opened in 2001, and a boutique in the City Plaza shopping complex in Shanghai, which opened in 2004.

Tiffany & Co operates jewelry and specialty retail stores and manufactures products through its subsidiary corporations. Its principal subsidiary is Tiffany and Company.
