Fashion shoe designer Steven Madden Ltd has appointed Daniel Friedman as Executive Licensing Director. In addition to managing the company's recently acquired accessories division, Friedman will also be responsible for heading and further developing the company's licensing business.
Friedman, age 47, has over 25 years of accessories and licensing experience, the last 15 of which include operating Daniel Friedman & Associates, a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of handbags, belts and related accessories. As previously announced, the company acquired Daniel Friedman & Associates in February 2006.
Jamieson Karson, Chairman and CEO of Steven Madden Ltd, said, "Danny's proven track record makes him an ideal person to head up our licensing efforts."
"We are now better positioned to capitalize on new licensing opportunities and leverage the strong Steve Madden brand across multiple categories. We look forward to having Danny work closely with Rob Schmertz, the company's Brand Director, as we further develop Steve Madden into a global lifestyle brand," Karson said.
Steven Madden Ltd designs and markets fashion-forward footwear and accessories for women, men and children. The shoes and accessories are sold through company-owned retail stores, department stores, apparel and footwear specialty stores.
