Mariana Lira shares: “I am very excited to show my collection at Nolcha Fashion Week for the second year. Nolcha gives me the opportunity to bring my brand to life and express who I am as a designer. I am looking forward to another show that is as successful and exhilarating as last season's.”
The Spring/Summer 2014 collection, named Tzigane, is full of transient, light and dreamy bohemian pieces, still with her signature sense of fluidity, simplicity and elegance.
The inspiration behind this collection is a girl trying to escape her life and trying to break free from the banality of the world, from her forbidding and constricted life, in order to discover who she truly is. She is an adventurer, a wanderer, an artist and a lover, all at the same time exuding a mysterious sophistication that she kept from her past. She is running from her royal family and disappearing into her dreams. This collection is a marriage of nomadic ancient gypsy meets 20's glamour and luxury.
Valentina notes, “While creating this collection I have learned that no matter what it is that inspires me for each new season, I still have to stay close to my sense of style in each collection. I have to be faithful to what resembles my brand, no matter what the theme is.”
Kerry Bannigan, CEO of Nolcha Fashion Week commented;” It’s great to see the Mariana Valentina collection returning to our runway. She is a talented designer and will deliver an exciting show unveiling her last creations.”
The provisional show schedule for Nolcha Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 will be announced shortly.
