Fast Fashion Lille reveals winners of 'Recycling' contest

The Nord-Pas de Calais region and Lille Metropole have been thinking about ways to develop the recycling industry, including finding new uses for surplus textiles produced by the fashion industry.

The new Textile Recycling Valley, a shared project between competitiveness clusters UP-tex and TEAM2, and the regional centres of excellence T2M (Textile Mode & Matériaux) and CD2E (Création et Développement d’Eco Entreprises), with the support of green organisation Eco TLC, will undoubtedly come up with some solutions. The competition was organised by the show to coincide with the launch of this project at the Environord trade show, adjacent to Fast Fashion Lille.

The finalists were present at the signing of the partnership agreement and Marie Laure Bellon Homps(president of the EUROVET board of directors) and Hervé Huchet (director of the fashion division) welcomed Pierre de SAINTIGNON (senior vice-president of economic development, new technology and continuing professional development of the Nord-Pas de Calais regional council and chief deputy to the Mayor of Lille) and Michel-François DELANNOY (mayor of Tourcoing and senior vice-president responsible for the governance and development of Lille Metropole) to Fast Fashion Lille. They visited the show and its Nord-Pas de Calais exhibitors, as well as the RECYCLING exhibition.

Competition partner Eco TLC sponsored the People’s Prize, and the organisation was a driving force behind the project. They were at the exhibition with a film and presentation to explain the different stages of the recycling process to the public.

The exhibition featured a presentation of the work of L’HERBE ROUGE, eco-friendly designers from MAISONS DE MODE, a long-standing partner of the show’s exhibitions.
