The just concluded Paris Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 featuring styling ideas for men saw display of collections by various well-known designers, including Dior Homme, Raf Simons, Berluti, Givenchy, Bill Gaytten and Lanvin.

Presenting his collection for Dior Homme, menswear designer Kris Van Assche flaunted a range of classic formally tailored dress style blending the 19th century styles with concept of contemporary informal wear. The collection included armless jackets, shorts, neoprene T-shirts, patch-pocketed work jackets and short sleeve satin shirts, all in petrol blue, black and burgundy shades.

In an experimental mood, Raf Simons presented an unconventional collection arousing much of a feminine look. At one instance, a male model walked bare legged with a short-sleeved button-up black mini-dress with black shoes and calf length socks. Other pieces included black shorts, long-sleeved pink shirt, tunic tops with pink and purple stripes, etc.

Berluti, the French shoemaker, which has recently ventured into apparel segment, presented a suiting collection with boaters and bow-ties adding to it.

Givenchy models rocked the ramp sporting striped rugby shirts transformed into baggy skateboarding wear, sweatshirts and T-shirts with designs of circuited innards of old computers and also loose basketball shorts with over tightly fitted leggings.

Loose coolie pants, loose tunics and shirts donned over bright trench coats in colours like black and tomato red, with a chunky metallic lace-up define the stylish collection from designer Bill Gaytten. Use of silky spotted, chevron, tie-print and striped fabrics in loosely tailored suits with colour palettes incorporating hues of navy and cobalt blue, yellow, tomato and coral red, black and white, marked the designer’s collection.

Lanvin tried to mingle formal and informal in its collection through short shorts with casual or tailored jackets, blouses and shirts with narrow neckties.
