Sixteen eclectic designers’ pieces will be featured in this environmentally responsible fashion show. Some zesty designs include London-trained Rachel Reichert’s bold, black and white collection of sci-fi women’s wear and lingerie, Swedish Mira Bonell’s ominous collection inspired by parochial farmers of her homeland, and Project Runway finalist, Althea Harper’s audacious autumn collection.
From garnished crochet dresses to repurposed plastic, each piece on the runway is representative of the multitude of methods and materials in which green fashion is embodied. Additionally, the "12 in 12 for 12" sustainable garment collection created by designers from the Lifetime TV show Project Runway will strut across this eco-friendly catwalk. Each piece of "12 in 12 for 12" represents a unique endangered animal.
Funds raised will go toward the conservation of rare threatened animals such as the Sumatran tiger (fewer than 300 left in the wild), Kakapo parrot (only 126 left in the world), and red wolf (fewer than 100 left in the wild).
In the words of Gabby Wild, "If we can invoke people to use their beauty in a sustainable fashion that simultaneously preserves the splendor of these creatures; I think they will feel beautiful in more ways than meets the eye."
