Fashion Week Brooklyn begins from Oct 3

Over the last six years, BK Fashion Weekend, presented by the non- profit, BK Style Foundation (BKSF) has supported hundreds of talented fashion designers based in the United States and abroad. BKSF is proud to announce the rebranding of Brooklyn’s premier fashion and cultural event and the addition of three new partners.

BK Fashion Weekend will be renamed Fashion Week Brooklyn. The mission of the foundation will remain the same and will continue to incorporate all of the artistic elements that added to the success of BKFashion Weekend. The design, styling and production of Fashion Week Brooklyn, will reflect the international appeal of the uniquely crafted event.

The new partners include: Marche Pénible (a full service media and publishing corporation) will co-produce Fashion Week Brooklyn and market the event. The foundation Art in Motion, will work alongside BKSF as a fundraising partner.

Kaya Luxury Events will produce the official after-party concert. Lastly, Industry City (located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn) will continue to host the event and serve as the home and headquarters of Fashion Week Brooklyn.

The next season of Fashion Week Brooklyn, “Be Inspired” Spring/Summer 2014 collections, will begin October 3 through October 6, 2013. The new Fashion Week Brooklyn website will be launched late July 2013, including all social media sites.

About BK Style Foundation (501c3 non-profit)

Established in 2006, the BK Style Foundation (BKSF) has devoted each season to support charitable organizations including (The Abner Louima Foundation, MTV Staying Alive Foundation and the Japan Society). BKSF lends a voice to issues including human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, community development and leadership training.

In the past year Art In Motion has created and managed art, music, fashion and photography projects in France, China, Cambodia, Haiti and New York City. Art in Motion has worked with over 1,200 children and raised over 40k for several grassroots organizations.
