Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar to show 'Renaissance Drama' at CFW

The fashion show will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the New Yorker Hotel, 481 Eighth Avenue, in the heart of the Big Apple's Fashion District. Music for the show will be by award-winning musician and composer Serge Khrichenko.

A native of Moscow, Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar received a B.A. in Fine Art and Design from Moscow Art College, and went on to serve for five years as the Resident Set and Costume Designer for the Moscow Chamber Forms Theater.

There, she designed numerous productions, which were staged in Moscow, Los Angeles and Washington DC. In 1991 Ms. Luzhina-Salazar moved to the USA where she continues to exhibit her extensive experience in Art and Theatrical Set and Costumes Designs.

Ms. Luzhina-Salazar's most recent accolade was Maryland Fashion Awards 2012 – Winner High Fashion Designer. She also received the Helen Hayes Award 2010: Outstanding Production for Youth - Winner, and was a nominee for the National Silver Archer Award in Public Relations 2011.

As a costume designer for the last 30 years, Ms. Luzhina-Salazar has worked for different theaters in Russia and the USA creating costumes for over 50 plays.

Over the past six years she has produced her own fashion show event entitled "Passion Runway" which has been presented in Washington DC at the Russian Embassy, the Sylvan Theater Stage at the Washington Monument, the First Annual Model Contest, and the Officer's Club, as well as in Virginia at the Synectic Theater and in Chicago at the Convention Center.

Ms. Luzhina-Salazar has participated in Couture Fashion Week New York, Spring Collection 2012 and 2013, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York, Virginia Fashion Week Evening Wear & Couture Collections 2012, in the Selden Arcade/D'Art Center in Norfolk, and in the 7th Annual Maryland Fashion Showcase 2011 and 2012.

Ms. Luzhina-Salazar's designs have won critical acclaim in both local and national newspapers, on radio and television.

Couture Fashion Week is a multi-day event showcasing couture and luxury fashion. It also includes exhibits of luxury brands and fine art as well as world-class entertainment and receptions. The event is held twice a year in New York City and is attended by upscale consumers, invited VIPs, the press and high-end store buyers.
