For leading players in the industry, fashion show is a platform to explore and learn about various cultures and traditions from all over the world, while for emerging designers it is a stage to build their carrier in the glamorous world.
So a glittering fashion show is an important platform for the emerging designers as well as brands from countries, like Kenya and Lebanon, were fashion is still in its infant stage. Because their creative works will be displayed in front of a group of critics, including celebrities, socialites, editor, retailer, etc, sitting in the front row of the event.
In an interview with fibre2fashion, emerging Lebanese designer Mariana Valentina said, “I think that whoever is sitting in the front row of any fashion show is very important in terms of media coverage for that designer.”
“The people who are sitting in the front row of a fashion show, whether it is an important celebrity, socialite, editor or retailer, create a positive impact for the designers to do their best,” she adds.
Although taking part in a fashion show is important for designers, sitting in the front row and keeping an eye on every detailing of their favorite designer’s creation is also important for them.
“I think sitting in the front row of my favorite fashion designer and experiencing the collections from nearby is the best one-on-one experience ever,” says Kenyan fashion designer Liz Ogumbo.
That is why several fashion brands are offering public view of their shows by broadcasting it through various virtual mediums, such as televisions and blogs, mainly to expand their reach and customer base.
