Her collection “Chokhi” for Autumn Winter 2013 is inspired by the richness of the city of Rajasthan. Its vibrant colors, historic structures and folk music create a magical and transcendent ambiance.
All these elements reflect eminently in my collection through the architectural prints, earthy colors, Shisha embroidery incorporated in a contemporary way by the use of acrylic cutouts and Rajasthani Motifs.
“Chokhi” Silhouette drifts in the route of Indian contemporary wear, ranging from lightweight printed Shirt kurtas and tunics teamed with straight intricately printed leggings to loose fitted Patiala’s. The Cuts are basic yet refreshing and exclusive, descent with a hint of motifs and architectural prints.
The menswear has an interesting blend of ethnic glare with modern skilled shirt kurtas; digitally printed half jackets crafting a layered and indo ethnic look altogether.
The collection further flows to heavier silhouettes, which includes Saris, shararas and lehengas, which are embellished lavishly with acrylic mirror cutouts, zardosi, metal studs and wool work. The color palette run through is kesari orange, haldi yellow, burnt maroon.
