Nitin Chawla – Masculine Fashion Statements

His all men’s wear collection called “The Tokyo Warrior” had the strong masculine fashion statements depicting clothes for a modern Samurai warrior. Nitin Chawla’s men’s wear had an imaginative blend of warrior outfits with contemporary styling. From unconventional Avant Garde outfits to a more stylish offering, there was edgy tailoring and crisp lines to depict the masculine silhouettes in a mélange of brushed cotton, herringbone, fleece, wool, felt, knits, and leather. The colour story remained strong and rugged as grey, black and charcoal with earthy tints added to the fashion attack on the ramp.

Keeping the theme of the line firmly in place, there were armoured jackets, overcoats with interesting detailing that appeared in the form of pleats in chevron design, heavily layered and studded bomber jacket, high neck knitted pullover, car printed shirt, quilted graded Shacket, woollen lined double pocket shirt and the leather double breasted overcoat were all ideal winter wear.

Utterly masculine and making strong fashion statements “The Tokyo Warrior” by Nitin Chawla was a collection for a man who is bold and daring, but an adventurer at heart where fashion is concerned.

Pronoy Kapoor – Power Dressing To The Fore

Inspired by the popular Hollywood blockbuster “The Great Gatsby” Pronoy Kapoor’s collection was aimed at the powerful women of the New Age who are feminine but in complete control of the world around them. Using tweeds and woollen fabrics, Pronoy had cleverly added various dyeing and washing techniques to manipulate the textiles. From structured fabrics to fragile organza, which was textured by hand; the collection had slim skirts, sharply cut jackets, billowy blouses and stylish sheath dresses.

Giving a dramatic edge to the collection, the bubble wraps around the heads of the models in white organza added to the glamour of the show. Bringing in zig-zag weaves for the stylish grey dresses, the long sleeve jacket teamed with a pearl embroidered sari, the grey simple coat having white borders, worn over a white organza smocked sheath; the overall look was elegant but slightly extreme to give an exciting twist to the retro inspiration.

Fashion of the past with large doses of the future made Pronoy Kapoor’s collection a great offering.

Rixi Bhatia And Jayesh Sachdev- Quirky Collection

With their label “Quirk Box”, the designing duo Rixi Bhathia and Jayesh Sachdev revealed a very colourful, pop, kitschy, loud, spunky collection. Giving prints a major importance in their line, the designer duo created a formal look with a dash of structured fluidity. Keeping the silhouettes basic, the pair allowed the digital prints and embroidery along with textures and colour blocking to tell a fun filled fashionable story. Crepe, georgette, cotton canvas and poplin formed the basis of the garments. Indian animal prints and Japanese Manga graphics added to the energy and style of the apparel that moved from pop culture to modern forms.
