Beatles mania, which had once engulfed every nook and corner of the globe, is still going very strong and the latest example of the never-fading obsession with the iconic legendary band was seen at a recent auction that saw a John Lennon-worn jacket fetching an unbelievable price.

Auctioned by the UK-based antique valuation house Hansons Auctioneers and Valuers, the teal blue coloured jacket, which was once sported by the late founder and lead singer of the band, fetched a whopping sum of £7,000.

After Lennon’s historical move to the US from his Berkshire mansion in 1971, the three-quarter length jacket, with a Mandarin collar and slightly flared sleeves, was given to his Personal Assistant Jo Jo Johns, who later gifted the jacket to her friend Tony Goddard on his birthday.

Even after more than three decades since his sad demise in the year 1980, the Liverpool-born iconic singer John Lennon still continues to rule the hearts of his fans. Till date, his music and belongings hold the same meaning and priceless value for his fans.

In the earlier part of this year, another auction house named Saráchaga in Buenos Aires, Argentina, had sold a slim-fit Alpaca wool made jacket, owned by the English musician, for a price of US$ 200,000.
