New York Fashion Week begins today

Fashion industry heavyweights and international celebrities are all flocking to the world’s busiest fashion hub to have a dekko at the forthcoming Spring/Summer 2014 trends which will be ceremoniously unveiled today at the much awaited bi-annual fashion event in New York.

Scheduled to run through September 12, 2013, the high-profile Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York will feature nearly 350 fashion shows, staged by an impressive number of supremely talented home-grown and foreign designers, in a course of eight days.

Expected to attract more than 100,000 guests, the most anticipated soiree will be opened by the renowned American designer label Nicholas K, owned and operated by designer siblings Nicholas and Christopher Kunz.

Spanish fashion brand Desigual, which is unveiling a new store in the city’s most legendary and expensive neighbourhood Fifth Avenue, is also going to make its New York Fashion Week debut on the opening day by displaying its latest ‘For Everybody Sex Fun & Love’ catwalk line.

Iconic fashion labels like Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Bibhu Mohapatra, Naeem Khan, Diane Von Furstenberg and DKNY are all going to present their freshest ensembles in the coming days of the prestigious soiree.
