The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is pleased to announce that Grammy Award–winning artist Sting will perform at the 2013 Art+Film Gala honoring artist David Hockney and filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Co-chaired by LACMA Trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, this memorable evening will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2013.

Gucci provides generous support to LACMA for the third year in a row as the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. Coinciding with the gala, LACMA will present David Hockney: Seven Yorkshire Landscape Videos, 2011, a new film installation by the 2013 Art+Film Gala honoree David Hockney.

The 2013 Art+Film Gala also celebrates LACMA’s collaboration with The Film Foundation and The Annenberg Foundation, in support of the restoration of four films by French filmmaker Agnès Varda: Uncle Yanco (1967), Black Panthers (1968), LIONS LOVE (…AND LIES) (1969), and Mur Murs (1981), all of which will subsequently enter LACMA’s permanent collection.

"I am a huge fan of Sting, and he is the perfect artist to perform at the third annual Art+Film Gala celebrating David Hockney and Martin Scorsese," says event co-chair Eva Chow. “I'm grateful for Sting's generosity and support to make the Art+Film Gala an unforgettable evening."

Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, chair of the Gala Host Committee, added, “Sting is one of my heroes. When he is on stage, his presence is undeniably captivating. He has a unique and enchanting sound that envelops his audience in his music, and it is an honor to have him perform at this year’s Art+Film Gala.”
