Conceived and curated by Donatella, Costume in Action brings together the most up-to-date thinking about costume through talks, interviews and performances. Co-curated by MA Fashion Curation alumnus, Matteo Augello, the series also brings together LCF costume voices and visionaries.
LCF lecturer Yves Barre will be speaking on a variety of subjects, while recent MA Costume Design for Performance graduates Alexander Ruth and Antonella Petraccaro have been selected for an innovative exhibition of international, ground breaking designers.
Other speakers include Academy Award nominated designer Professor Deborah Nandoolman Landis, who will be in conversation with Kick Ass costume designer Sammy Sheldon Differ. Landis recently gave a lecture at LCF on The Art of Hollywood Costume.
Donatella’s programme looks at costume from the sustainable, social and cultural angle, as well as considering it as an artistic, technological, material and embodied element of performance.
Donatella explained the importance of the series at Wold Stage Design: “It really does foreground LCF as the leader in the subject of Costume Design in Performance.”
Staff and alumni from LCF have been involved in all aspects of the event, including
