Nashville Fashion Week is proud to announce that it will return April 1-5, 2014. The fourth annual city-wide celebration of Nashville’s thriving fashion and retail community and its' vast array of creative talent will feature local, regional and national designers and industry professionals in an array of creative events throughout the week that will encourage both Nashvillians and visitors to explore the city’s diverse fashion and retail spaces through promotions, partnerships and educational workshops.

NFW is founded and directed by a collaboration of fashion, retail and media professionals who have partnered to combine resources and passion to create a volunteer event spotlighting Nashville’s growing fashion community with a sustainable focus for philanthropic support.

Emerging Designer Application

Nashville Fashion Week seeks Middle Tennessee’s best emerging designers to spotlight during the 2014 event. Applications are now being accepted for regional designers to apply for that opportunity.

Applicants must demonstrate creativity, quality and a broad appeal to a wide range of consumers. If chosen, the emerging designer will have the opportunity to showcase their collection during Nashville Fashion Week, April 1-5, 2014. All emerging designers interested in showing their Fall 2014 collections are encouraged to submit their application for review.

The deadline to submit emerging designer applications is September 30, 2013. Emerging Designers will be notified by mid October and announced to the public during a late fall, official Nashville Fashion Week event.

Emerging Designer Criteria:

- Must live in or have connections to Nashville and/or Middle Tennessee.

- Fall 2014 collection must be original designs, debuting at Nashville Fashion Week.

- Must be available to show during the week of April 1-5, 2014 (with specific schedule to be determined by Nashville Fashion Week organizers).

Originally established in 2011, this endowed fund supports the next generation of fashion industry professionals with ties to Middle Tennessee and provides financial awards and resources for experiential opportunities for professional development. Past winners have included designers Julianna Bass and Lauren Leonard, creator of the Leona brand.

“Nashville Fashion Week, through the tireless efforts of hundreds of volunteers and an impassioned creative community, has grown into a creative philanthropic venture, showcasing our city's broad palette of talent and style,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

“Whether you are a designer, hairstylist, photographer or model, thanks to Nashville Fashion Week, Nashville is now securely on the map in the world of fashion. As the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund grows, so too will the support available to encourage the next generation of talent.”

Applications are due no later than 4 p.m. CST on October 30, 2013. The award recipient is selected by a committee of the Board of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and will be announced in January of 2014.
