Expobone announces winners of 'Brazil is in fashion' award

Nearly 33 entries contested for the ‘Brazil is in fashion’ award, which was recently organized as part of the fifth edition of Expoboné 2013, a trade fair that caters specifically for the Brazilian hat and gown making industry.

Designer Valeria Cristina Lepre bagged the coveted award for her exquisite cap made from dyed twill and felt. Inspired from the wild animals of the Pantanal, one of the world's largest tropical wetland areas, the stylish headgear was decorated with screen printing and embroidery.

In the clothing category of the competition, the Parana Federal Technological University (UTFPR) student Clara Alves Alvarenga won the prize for her knitted cotton and polyester mix shirt.

Organized by National Association of Industry Hat, Gifts and Similar products (ANIBB), the event, which attracted more than 4000 people, was attended by several buyers from countries like Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia and France.

Companies like Water Snake, DPRL, shirt Latinha, Ledre Giveaways and Doggueto participated in the three-day-long fair.

In addition to highlighting clothing, hats and other fashion accessories, business meetings with prominent cap and clothing manufacturers were also held as part of Expoboné.
