For the first time in its history of several decades, Musée Galliera, the famous Parisian fashion museum, is hosting a retrospective exhibit on the Paris-based couturier Azzedine Alaïa.

Slated to run till January 26, 2014, the event, which also marks the reopening of the museum’s newly renovated facility, features some 70 outfits designed by the Tunisian-born talent known for his precisely cut, light, ethereal dresses.

Curated by the museum director Olivier Saillard, the ongoing exhibit aims to retrace the five decade-long glorious career of the celebrity favourite old-school couturier Alaïa, who has dressed the likes of Greta Garbo and Tina Turner.

The featured exhibits include a crimson hued dress (worn by Rihanna), a hooded copper coloured belted gown (sported by Grace Jones), an Egyptian style white column dress with peek-a-boo slits and a crocodile skin made shimmering black jacket.
