The John and Mable Ringling Museum, in Sarasota, Florida, in the US, has opened a new exhibition titled ‘Icons of Style’, which celebrates the interconnected roles of fashion’s influencers, from designers to illustrators, models, muses and photographers.

According to a statement issued by the museum, the exhibit aims to explore the art of fashion from concept to collaboration, and features rich collections of costumes, fashion illustrations, and photography.

The ‘Icons of Style’ exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, features 15-20 dressed mannequins, fashion illustrations and photographs that reveal the richness of design, persona, and image.

The exhibit includes catwalk designs and runway pieces by renowned designers such as John Galliano for Dior, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Olivier Theyskens for Rochas, Arnold Scaasi and Christian Lacroix.

Costumes worn by celebrities such as Barbra Streisand, Winona Ryder and Cate Blanchett on the red carpet are also featured in the exhibit, which will run till January 5, 2014.
