Scarlet Bindi offers online luxury Indian fashion in UK

This distinct site was launched four weeks ago by fashion bloggers Neha Oberoi and Snigdha Reddy, who are originally from Canada and India respectively. Working in the online group buying industry during the day, and a South Asian fashion blogger in the evening, Neha noticed that there was a shortage of made to measure high quality South Asian clothing in the UK.

Snigdha, a business analyst in the day, and avid beauty and fashion blogger in the evenings, is originally from India where she grew up seeing a vast array of gorgeous Indian clothing.

The city of fashion allowed Neha and Snigdha to meet through their blogs and realize that the fashion industry in the UK was missing something. The South Asian high fashion element wasn’t readily available even though the demand for it is high. This led them to launch Scarlet Bindi.

“The Indian fashion industry is booming, and through Bollywood and the numerous fashion shows that are viewed instantaneously over the internet, the trends that are popular in India are also popular in the UK,” says Neha. “The only issue is that these pieces are easy to get in India, but they are not so easy to get in the UK. This is where Scarlet Bindi comes in.”

Scarlet Bindi provides a platform for high end designs that have been spotted on Bollywood style favourite Sonam Kapoor, as well as provides access to designer labels including Payal Singhal and Satya Paul.
