Pure London extends partnership with UKTI for 2014

Organiser of Pure London, i2i Events Group, has announced an extension of their partnership agreement with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) for 2014, in a move which will see an increased focus on supporting UK exhibitors with their international growth.

As a result of this new agreement, UKTI will become i2i Events Group’s International Business Partner, and will participate in the forthcoming edition of Pure London working with i2i Events to deliver even more international buyers to the show.

The partnership between i2i Events and UKTI primarily aims to inspire and support UK based SMEs in their efforts to succeed internationally, establish a foothold in new markets and capitalise further on existing business opportunities.

In February this year, 5,289 international visitors attended the AW13 edition of Pure London, demonstrating its prominence as the UK’s premier international fashion trade show. With this new agreement, i2i Events hopes to build on this figure and will work with UKTI to implement specific initiatives aimed at attracting more international visitors to its shows.

For Pure London this will include the creation of an International Trade Lounge on the show floor which will house an export theatre showcasing four sessions per day of relevant export content and an international buyers’ drinks reception to be held on the Monday night of the show.  Pure London will also work with UKTI to bring the top 50 global fashion stores’ buyers to the show.

Ian Houghton, Head of Commercial, Technology & Events at UKTI comments “We are delighted to announce this strengthening of our partnership with i2i Events Group and to be working with them on a number of additional shows.  We believe that this partnership will be very beneficial to UK companies looking to take their products and services global and we look forward to working with them and the individual i2i show teams to achieve our common goals.”

Julie Driscoll portfolio director at i2i Events Group adds “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with UKTI on future editions of Pure London.  Pure London is the UK’s leading fashion buying event and last year over 70 countries were represented by visitors to the show.  In working closely with UKTI we aim to increase the number of overseas buyers coming to the event and support our UK exhibitors in making the most of their contact with this international audience.”

Pure London is the UK's leading trade fashion buying event, representing womenswear, footwear, accessories and young fashion. Organised by i2i Events Group, it takes place every February and August. The show offers buyers from UK and international independents, multiples, department stores, etailers and mail order, the opportunity to discover collections launching for the season ahead from over 1,000 brands, attend catwalk shows and hear from their peers and other industry experts in valuable seminars and workshops.
