An array of fresh spring/summer collections, designed by a talented mix of emerging and seasoned designers, was featured at the just concluded 19th edition of Latvian sartorial fest Riga Fashion Week.

Inspired from Hans Christian Andersen’s popular children’s novel Thumbelina, the fashion label Narcissus mixed elements of childishness and feminine maturity in its latest catwalk presentation, replete with floral print dresses of various lengths.

Designer Natalie Jansson featured a light and airy range, meant for women of all ages and body types. Titled as Ibiza, the collection comprising of pieces which could be worn both to business meetings and night outs was made using fabrics like Italian silk, rayon and cotton.

Contemporary continental fashion sensibilities combined with mysticism of Oriental elements were seen at brand Nolo’s ‘Lost In The Sands’ line. Inspired from the Middle Eastern culture and nomadic tribes, the ensembles were made from linen, cotton, jersey, jacquard, taffeta, lace, silk and chiffon.

The precocious teenager from English novel Lolita, written by the famous author of Russian origin, Vladimir Nabokov, played inspiration behind Irina Skladnovas’s brightly coloured sensual collection, made from breezy ethereal materials like chiffon and lace.

Popular prêt-a-porter label Amoralle blurred the boundaries between luxurious dresses and fine sleepwear in its new line, inspired from the beach outfits of 1930s.
