International trade fair Greenshowroom begins from Jan 14

From 14 to 16 January 2014 the international trade fair for exquisite and sustainable high-end fashion will be showing itself in a new light on two floors of this impressive building. Both a young avant-garde and some well established labels will be exhibiting fashionable clothes, accessories, beauty products and selected lifestyle products which harmoniously combine luxury, design and sustainability.

“The Greenshowroom has always been marked by a highly exquisite character and a stylish ambience. Our first chats with exhibitors have confirmed that when we looked for a suitable new venue we made the right choice in opting for the Kronprinzenpalais,” says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, the organisers of the Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show.

“Preparations for January are in full swing, and we’re looking forward to a successful show.” Brands such as Aleks Kurkowski, Deepmello, Leibschneider, Katharina Kaiser, Spectrum, Gotsutsumu and Lillika Eden have already agreed to take part in the Greenshowroom.

A highlight at the trade fair: the Salon Show

Working together with the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin at the Ewerk, with its focus on streetwear and casualwear, the Greenshowroom will be the biggest platform for eco-friendly and fair trade fashion during the Berlin Fashion Week.

Having attracted over 100 exhibitors on the last occasion, both exhibitions function as a European centre for eco-fair fashion and as leading B2B fairs in this business segment, managed by Messe Frankfurt. The highlight of the trade fair will be presented on 15 January 2014: the Salon Show, where a young avant-garde will be showing selected items from their collections.

The prestigious Great Hall of the Kronprinzenpalais will have more space than ever for the traditionally very well attended catwalk show.

The world’s population is growing. The Earth’s natural resources will soon be exhausted, and the world’s social systems cannot cope. It’s time to rethink. The sustainability of fashion will be decided more than ever before by factors such as innovative materials, fair working conditions and transparent supply chains.

The Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will put spotlights of the forthcoming season on the trend theme “Peak…”. Exhibitors at the Greenshowroom will be demonstrating their trendsetting ideas. In an environment of avant-garde design, however, “Peak...” should also be understood in terms of innovation and creativity. The designer labels at the Greenshowroom will be featuring highlights in sophisticated design, perfect tailoring and maximum quality. In this way new incentives will be created, though always in harmony with social and environmental criteria.

Shuttle service and accreditation

On all three days a low-emission Mercedes-Benz shuttle service will link the Greenshowroom at the Kronprinzenpalais with the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin at the Ewerk, the Premium exhibition at the Gleisdreieck and the marquee of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. This means that visitors can quickly and conveniently move between each of the venues.
